How do I store my Dates?
If you can resist not eating the entire box, they are fine left out at room temperature, consider the level of humidity if you live in warmer climates. They can be kept for 2 months sealed and 1 month opened. The chocolate we use is fine Belgium chocolate and lasts longer than typical compound chocolate used in most candy products.
What type of chocolate do you use?
We use Couverture Belgian chocolate, a very high-quality chocolate that contains a higher percentage of cocoa butter than baking or eating chocolate, this additional cocoa butter, gives the chocolate more sheen, a firmer "snap" when broken, and a creamy mellow flavor. The additional crunch adds another level to our Date Truffles and Stuffed Dates we know you'll love. There is NO MILK added to this type of chocolate, it is made with cocoa butter which is dairy free and safe for a vegan diet. We are focused on becoming 100% vegan.
We also use white Belgian chocolate in some of our products. White chocolate does CONTAIN MILK products, with a blend of sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla, and a fatty substance called lecithin. Technically, white chocolate is not a chocolate because it doesn't contain chocolate solids. We are still in search of a vegan/dairy free alternative.
